Privacy Policy
Softball Bound (“Softball Bound,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an iOS and Android app published by AllTeamz, LLC that helps softball athletes and their families navigate the college recruiting process. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the app, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using the app, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
When you create an account and use the app, you may provide:
- Account details: name, email address, and a password (or, if you sign in with Apple or Google, the email and name returned by that provider).
- Player profile: first and last name, graduation year, position(s), high school name and location, travel/club team and coach, GPA, athletic statistics (e.g., batting average, ERA, 60-yard dash, exit velocity), a short bio, and optional highlight video links.
- Parent / guardian contact: if you choose to enter it, the parent or guardian’s name, email, and phone number for inclusion in recruiting emails you generate.
- Saved schools, notes, and chat messages you create within the app, including conversations with the in-app AI recruiting coach.
- Support requests you send to us via email.
You can leave any optional profile field blank. Core features work with a minimal profile.
1.2 Information collected automatically
When you use the app we automatically collect:
- Device and app information: device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, and crash and performance diagnostics.
- Usage data: features used, screens viewed, and aggregated counters used to enforce free-tier limits (for example, how many AI messages have been sent).
- Push notification token: a Firebase Cloud Messaging token used to deliver notifications you have opted into.
- Subscription status: purchase, renewal, and entitlement information for in-app subscriptions, returned to us by RevenueCat and the Apple App Store / Google Play.
1.3 Information stored only on your device
- Saved sign-in credentials may be stored locally in Apple Keychain / Android Keystore (via
expo-secure-store) so you can quickly sign back in. These credentials are not transmitted to our servers beyond the standard sign-in flow.
1.4 Permissions we may request
- Face ID / Touch ID / device biometrics — if you enable biometric unlock, the app asks your device’s operating system to verify it’s you. We never receive, see, or store any biometric data, image, or template. The OS simply returns a yes/no result.
- Contacts — only if you ask the app to save a coach to your phone’s contacts. We do not read or upload your existing contacts.
- Notifications — to deliver coaching change alerts, recruiting deadline reminders, and product updates you have opted into.
You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in your device settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Create and secure your account and authenticate you on return visits.
- Provide core features: searching college programs, viewing coach contact information, saving favorites, drafting recruiting emails, and chatting with the AI recruiting coach.
- Personalize AI-generated recruiting emails and chat responses using your player profile, the school you are viewing, and the recent conversation context.
- Process subscription purchases, restorations, and renewals.
- Send transactional messages (password resets, receipts) and — only if you opted in — recruiting deadline reminders and product updates.
- Monitor performance, diagnose crashes, prevent abuse, and improve the app.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-app advertising.
3. Third Parties Who Process Your Data
We use the following service providers (“sub-processors”) to operate the app. They process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.

When you use the AI recruiting coach or generate a recruiting email, the content of your message and the relevant profile fields are sent to OpenRouter and the underlying AI model. Do not include information you do not want sent to a third-party AI provider. We do not use the content of your AI conversations to train any model.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our Terms of Service, to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case any successor will be bound by this policy).
4. Children’s Privacy
Softball Bound is designed for high school and college-age athletes and their families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, please use the app only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@allteamz.com and we will delete the account and associated data promptly.
5. Your Rights and Choices
You can, at any time:
- Access or edit your profile information directly inside the app.
- Delete your account and all associated data by opening Profile → Delete Account in the app. This permanently removes your authentication record, player profile, saved schools, and chat history.
- Clear individual chat histories with a specific school from the chat screen.
- Opt out of push notifications through your device’s notification settings.
- Unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any such message, or by emailing us.
- Revoke contacts, notifications, or biometric permissions at any time in your device’s privacy settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to access, correct, port, restrict, or object to certain processing of your information. To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@allteamz.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, saved schools, and chat history from our active databases promptly, with residual copies removed from routine backups within 30 days. We may retain a minimal record of the deletion event, anonymized usage logs, and information we are required to keep for tax, accounting, or legal-compliance purposes.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including transport encryption (HTTPS/TLS), authenticated access to our Firebase database with security rules that restrict each user to their own records, and platform-managed secure storage for credentials on your device. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected users of any breach as required by law.
8. International Users
The app is operated from the United States. If you are accessing it from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and in any other country where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the app or by email. Your continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
