Wouldn’t recruiting be easier for everyone (colleges & players) if colleges listed the positions & year of verbals they have already filled?
That way they wouldn’t receive tons of unnecessary emails, calls etc. Also, players aren’t spending time & energy where the spot is already filled?
You don’t keep applying for a job once it’s listed as filled, right?!
How would I find a sample of profile sheets? Both team and individual? Hoping to bring a team from Eastern Canada down next summer to a couple of events
Hey Colin, I wrote an article to discuss this, please let me know if it’s helpful. Do us a solid and tell everyone you know about our app, Softball Bound. Softball player and team profile templates on Softball Bound https://ateamz.com/2Jnj73x
You are 100% right Ryan. The turn over of assistant coaches would make it very difficult. Hell the turn over of head coaches these days are hard enough to keep up with. My kids team will start next year with the 3rd group of assistants in her 3 years of attendance. If other people are not doing it sometimes there is a really good reason they are not. Keep up the outstanding effort.
I am looking for a travel ball team for my daughter. She is pretty new at it. She was on a travel ball team and she sat on the bench more than she got to play. I want her to be on a team with dedication, someone who works with the team and not focus on certain players. Can someone please help us?
Hey Summer, we’d love to help but not sure how to help. We have no idea where you’re located. There’s a Facebook group that would likely be a great place to start.
What if the team coach won’t allow an “outside the fence” individual to strike up the conversation? How do you “promote” your daughter/player after she’s already spoken to a particular coach? I’m being told to back off and let him do the talking. Am I in the wrong for casual conversation when we’ve already developed a dialogue and received invites to camp?
Two questions? Is he trying to limit the number of contacts because he’s doing a great job of managing it already? I am pretty specific about a single individual being the point of contact outside and off the field. Parents approaching college coaches is a no go from my side. Second question, is the coach giving you, the parent, the ownership of the relationship with the coaches after contact is made?
I want to know “What future tech is going to be the biggest help in recruiting over the next 5 years.”
It’s been added to the list and that is a great question.

That’s such a great point. I’d love to ask that question.

I will post some examples this week in another article

Ron, I am so proud of your daughter. She’s getting a new head coach too, no?
